Nevada Senior Services Inc. is pleased to announce the creation of the Adult Day Care Center of Henderson. This innovative adult day health care facility is now open. The Day Care is the first phase of a health care campus. The campus will ultimately will be home to a new 16 bed Nathan Adelson Hospice and a park in addition to the adult day care center.

Like it's sister facility The Adult Day Care Center of Las Vegas, The Adult Day Care Center of Henderson provides state of the art programming, including New Pathways (Brain Injury Program), a unique cognitive stimulation program that offers hope to those with brain injury, respite to caregivers, and a support system designed to maintain the brain injured effectively in the community. This program encompassing services for participants with Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury and others impacted by perceptual and cognitive related disabilities features a special computer/cognition laboratory harnessing the latest in technology.

Adult Day Care Center of Henderson consists of approximately 7,000 square feet of program space including multi-purpose activity room, library/computer room, arts & crafts center, garden serenity patio, outdoor activity zone and a community meeting room to provide a state of the art resource for both caregiver and professional education. Offices for social work and management, staff break room and kitchen round out the resources of this exciting new facility.

The facility is the result of a grass roots community effort when a group of Henderson citizens identified a need for an inpatient hospice facility and adult day care facility within their community. Study of community data regarding the increasing aged population in Southern Nevada supported their perception. The City of Henderson has leased 11.22 acres for the project. The construction budget for the hospice, adult day care center and park is approximately $11 million funded primarily with grants and private contributions. Two block grants for construction totaling more than $2 million have been awarded from the City of Henderson and Clark County. In addition federal funds of $1 million have been allocated. In total, $3.4 million has been received for the construction of the Adult Day Care Center of Henderson. The Adult Day Care Center of Henderson is complete and accepting new clients.
